이 글을 쓰게 된 것은 당근에서 아이맥을 사려고 하는데 어느정도 시세가 형성되어 있지만 좀 더 정확하게 시세를 판단할 수 있는 근거를 찾고 싶었기 때문이었습니다.

특히 같은 년식, 같은 모델이어도 칩의 종류나 칩 옵션, 메모리 등에 따라 가격이 조금씩 달라지는 부분을 확인하고 싶었습니다.

이번 조사를 통해 새롭게 얻은 정보들을 나열하자면

1. 애플제품의 옵션가격이 굉장히 사악하다 : 저장장치 2TB를 추가하면 108만원 추가라니..

2. 애플제품의 옵션 중 업그레이드가 가능한 항목이 있다.

  - 아이맥의 경우, 메모리 칩을 별도로 구매하면 메모리 업그레이드가 가능합니다. 

  - 그러나 아이맥을 제외하고 메모리를 업그레이드 할 수 없습니다.

  - 저장장치는 옵션을 추가하는 것보다 외부 저장매체를 활용하는 것이 가격대비 유리할 것 같습니다.

3. 맥미니 저가의 함정에 빠지지 말 것

  - 맥미니 기본형은 85만원으로 굉장히 저렴합니다.

  - 저는 외부 출장이 많아서 출장지 모텔 TV에 HDMI를 연결해서 미니맥을 사용할 생각을 살짝 했었는데 곧 잘못된 생각이었음을 깨닫게 되었습니다. 맥미니는 모니터나 주변기기들이 갖추어진 상태 또는 모니터를 통한 디스플레이가 크게 필요하지 않은 특수한 상황에서 필요한 것 같습니다. 맥미니에 저가형 모니터, 일반 마우스와 키보드를 연결해서 사용하려고 한다면 결국 애플제품을 사용하는 이유(고성능 모니터) 중 하나를 버리게 되는 것 같습니다. 그냥 단순히 macOS 자체가 필요한 분들에게 적합하리라 예상됩니다.

4. 아이맥 VS 맥북, 어떤 제품을 선택해야?

  - 이게 가장 고민이 많이 되는 부분이었습니다. 

  - 일단 아이맥 기본형과 맥북에어 M3가 스펙적으로 동일한 성능을 가지고 있습니다 : M3 칩 / 8코어GPU / 메모리 8GB / SSD 256GB

  - 같은 성능에서 가격은 아이맥이 199만원, 맥북에어가 159만원으로 맥북이 40만원 비쌉니다.

  - 아이맥은 매직키보드와 매직마우스가 기본으로 포함되는데 맥북도 탑재되어 있으므로 이 부분이 동일하다고 가정한다면

  - 모니터 성능에서 13인치에서 24인치로 정확히는 10.2인치 정도가 넓어지는 효과를 40만원에 구매하는 것입니다.

  - 그리고 아이맥은 메모리 성능을 업그레이드 할 수 있으니 그 부분까지 고려한다면 아이맥의 압승이라고 하겠습니다.

  - 하지만 이 모든 부분을 커버하는 것이 바로 맥북의 휴대성입니다. 집이 아닌 학교 / 카페 / 도서관에서 대부분 사용을 한다면 맥북은 어쩔 수 없는 선택일 것입니다.

5. 만약 아이맥이 휴대성까지 겸비하게 된다면?

  - 내 마음은 이미 아이맥으로 기울어졌는데, 휴대성이 필요하다...

맥에 원격 접속하는 4가지 방법

  - 아직 테스트를 해보지 않았지만 집에서는 아이맥을 사용하고 외부에서는 개인 노트북을 통해 아이맥에 원격접속해서 사용한다면 휴대성 부분이 보완될 것 같네요.

6. 결론 : 아이맥 VS 맥북

  - 결론은 저라면 일단 아이맥쪽을 선택할 것 같습니다.

  - 하지만 많은 분들은 저와 다르게 생각할 것 같습니다.

The reason I wrote this article was because I was planning to buy an iMac from Carrot and although the market price was somewhat established, I wanted to find evidence to judge the market price more accurately.

In particular, I wanted to check whether the price varies slightly depending on the type of chip, chip options, memory, etc., even for the same model and year.

Let us list the new information obtained through this survey:

1. The option prices for Apple products are extremely outrageous: adding 2TB of storage costs an additional 1.08 million won...

2. Among the options of Apple products, some items can be upgraded.

  - For iMac, memory upgrades are possible by purchasing a memory chip separately. 

  - But you can't upgrade the memory except for iMac.

  - It seems cost-effective to use an external storage medium rather than adding additional options.

3. Don’t fall into the trap of low-cost Mac minis.

  - The basic Mac mini is very cheap at 850,000 won.

  - I travel a lot on business trips, so I briefly thought about using a mini Mac by connecting it to a motel TV via HDMI, but I soon realized that it was a wrong idea. The Mac Mini seems to be needed in special situations where a monitor or peripheral devices are equipped or when display through a monitor is not greatly needed. If you try to use a low-cost monitor or a regular mouse and keyboard with your Mac Mini, you end up giving up one of the reasons for using Apple products (a high-performance monitor). It is expected to be suitable for those who simply need macOS itself.

4. iMac VS MacBook, which product should you choose?

  - This was the part I was most worried about.

  - First of all, the basic iMac and MacBook Air M3 have the same performance specifications: M3 chip / 8-core GPU / 8GB of memory / 256GB SSD

  - With the same performance, the iMac costs 1.99 million won and the MacBook Air costs 1.59 million won, making the MacBook 400,000 won more expensive.

  - The iMac comes with a magic keyboard and magic mouse as standard, but since the MacBook is also equipped with it, assuming that these parts are the same.

  - Purchasing a monitor for 400,000 won will increase the performance of the monitor from 13 inches to 24 inches, or about 10.2 inches to be exact.

  - Also, the iMac can upgrade its memory performance, so if you take that into account, I would say that the iMac wins by a landslide.

  - But what covers all of these is the portability of the MacBook. If you mostly use your computer at school/cafe/library rather than at home, a MacBook will be your inevitable choice.

5. What if iMac also became portable?

  - My heart is already leaning toward an iMac, but I need portability...
